George Hunter is a Healer of Mohawk descent who offers a blend of new world and old world healing approaches in the form of energy work, intuitive guidance, ceremony, and sound healing. He is the developer of the Bloodline Healing TM Approach, which is a form of ancestral healing that directly addresses Historical Trauma that has been passed down through the generations. Much of his work focuses on healing the ripple effects of catastrophes such as the after effects of the Holocaust, historical wounding of Native American Communities, and even older events carried by people of European descent.
He is the founder of the BlueStone Institute, a school to train healers in the healing arts. The Curriculum focuses on the development of intuitive abilities, hands on energy healing methods, as well as Expressive Art Therapy approaches developed by Arie Kupferwasser, ATR.
George has been involved with research at Cornell University, studying the use of Ye'kuana plant medicines in the Amazon Rainforest. He was a Research Associate at Stonybrook Hospital's Complimentary and Alternative Medicine Center in NY as well as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Integrative Medicine department. George works cooperatively with conventional Physicians in his approach to chronic diseases, ofetn attracting clients with auto immune disease, chronis digestive disorders, and cancer.
A typical session begins with the client telling their story. George believes that storytelling is one of our deepest emotional and spiritual needs as human beings. He gently uses his intuitive abilities to help the client explore the dark corners of their awareness. With awareness comes choice, and with choice comes change.
Very often, in Westernized Society, true honor has been lost. George creates a space using Honor songs from his Mohawk hertigage to acknowledge the struggle and unrecognized gifts of the client. Hands on energy work is offered while clients lay on a massage table to help the body release the story it no longer needs. These trapped stories are often called blocks and may require emotional expression to release them fully.
As a singer, George has performed at the New Mexico Expo, the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigneous Issues, at Cornell University, and on the Good Day NY News program. His album, "Haven" is available for sale here: Buy Haven
