Statement of Healership

As a Certified Energetic Practitioner and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience, I offer a non-judgmental and nurturing space for healing. I've come to believe that The Body has a Mind of its Own. Using a combination of a powerful verbal process with hands on energetic healing, I help my clients release the heavy memories which our body can store. Negative energy stored for long periods of time can result in symptoms such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, blocks in creativity, difficulty maintaining relationships, decreased libido, infertility, and other illnesses. My work helps to clear this blocked energy while validating who you are as a person and acknowledging the challenges of your life. I help you engage these challenges with empathy, caring and a sense of responsibility. Through this integrated approach, the client and healer can cooperatively build a bridge between the mind and the body to achieve health and wholeness.

Typical Session

A typical session begins with traditional talk therapy focusing on those concerns which led the client to seek treatment. In order to deepen the work, the treatment moves to an energetic exploration of the body enabling client and therapist to identify and address blocks which are obstacles to healing. The body work includes elements of breathing, vocalization, visualization, guiding imagery, movement, and hands-on energetic healing. The healing moves back and forth between the process of identifying and releasing blocks, and reflection, understanding and integration of what has occurred. Sessions often close with a take-home exercise designed to help the client internalize the discovery process.

Scope of Practice: Individual Sessions, Phone Sessions, Urgent Sessions Available.

I work with individuals, couples, and groups, ranging from adolescents to adults. This healing work addresses the deep emotional components of illness and disease. It is not intended to take the place of medical treatment. Dina works in collaboration with other healing professionals in order to increase the potential for the fullest possible healing.

Training

Dina Bernat-Kunin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience with adults, adolescents and children in traditional psychotherapy. She earned her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work, and a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute. In addition, she received her certification as an Energy Healing Practitioner from the Blue Stone Institute for the Healing Arts. Dina brings her extensive clinical skills in areas such as severe mental illness, trauma and abuse, crisis-oriented therapy, and acute and chronic physical illness to her current integrated therapy-healing practice.

Statement of Healership 

I am an Intuitive Healer and Certified Energetic Practitioner, as well as a traditionally trained psychotherapist (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist). I use energy work and core energetic techniques in conjunction with more traditional therapeutic approaches to help clients move blocks and negotiate through areas of their lives where they may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or dissatisfied. A Typical Session

A session begins with a brief discussion about your intention for the session and any specific areas on which you would like the healing to focus. The energy work is usually performed on a massage table, although this is not massage. The client lies on the table fully clothed except for shoes and I place my hands on the client's body to connect with their energy. Typically, clients may feel heat from my hands or a tingling sensation in their body, or they may experience a deep relaxation that allows them to fall asleep. Every session is unique to the individual. Depending on the specific needs of the client during the session, some sessions allow the client to have a more passive role and others require an active collaboration between me and the client, including guided breathing, vocalizations, movement or other creative expression, in order to move blocks and bring emotional release. The discharged energy of the trauma can relieve suffering and be transformed into empowerment and a sense of increased aliveness.

She graduated the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in June, 2007 as a Certified Holistic Health Counselor and a Board Certified Wellness Practitioner. She is also a member of The American Association of Drugless Practioners. In March, 2008 she became a Certified Hypnotist and is a member of The National Guild of Hypnotists, and that same month she completed her studies and became a Reiki Master under the Usui Method.

Statement: In order to better help her clients, Pam continues to take various workshops in other healing modalities so she can integrate them into her practice. Her experiences from being the mother of 4 children seems to enter into her Healing Work, and some of her clients have remarked that the energy they feel during a Healing Session is warm and nurturing.
